Ninth SpaceWire Working Group meeting, ESA/ESTEC

26th and 27th of April 2007

Proceedings (C)

Scope: The meeting was focusing on CCSDS SOIS services as defined by the corresponding draft Red Books and on their implementation on SpaceWire Network based Data Systems.

The main objectives of the meeting were essentially to:

  • Provide feedback to the CCSDS SOIS Working Group on services definition and their adequacy from a SpW point of view
  • Review and discuss how SpW networks can me mapped on CCSDS SOIS Sub-Network Layer services – and the reciprocal -
  • Discuss Network Management and Plug&Play related topics

Day 1: Thursday 26th of April   09:00 – 18:00

    • Data Systems – Reference Architectures
    • Data Systems families and Embedded Systems – Development Methodologies
    • FDIR, Availability, Reliability and QoS Requirements
    • Plug and Play, Plug and Confirm or Connect on Demand?

Summary: The PaDaPar study (Payload Data Processing ARchitecture), conducted by the data processing advanced studies engineering group at Astrium, has identified common functionalities from past and future payload applications and have defined modular architecture(s) for Payload Data Handling Systems supporting the objective of reusability of generic functions and also resource sharing for multiple instrument systems.
